14 years ago…I was blessed

14 Years ago I was blessed with the birth of my son JJ.  He was a little chunky baby…he always had a smile on his face, he was a happy baby.  I was in love with my little man.  As he grew older, he was known for being this carefree child, the clown in the classroom, the happy-go-lucky JJ. He stop being a little kid and his goofiness stopped, I was sad to see that happen…my husband call it “Testosterone”…I call it Society.  Society forced him to stop being the happy-go-lucky, carefree child, and forced him to become this serious young man.

I still see the goofiness in the privacy of our home, very rare, but I still see it at times. Now, my JJ is a young man…one thing that has not change is his heart…gosh…he has such a good heart…he cares about others, he is quiet, but he is a loyal friend, an amazing son, the best brother he can be…and a gift from GOD to his parents.

Today is JJ’s 14th birthday!!! We are happy, I mean super happy…he keeps growing into this amazing young person.  His personality keeps shaping and is all for the best.  He has found his voice, he is not mama’s boy anymore, he make his own decisions (well, under mom and dad’s supervision), he is outspoken about his likes and dislikes…and we love all that about him.

He still hugs me at night, I still see the love in his eyes when he looks at me, although the kissing and hugging has diminished…when he looks at me…I see my little boy loving on me all over again.  I love my son, I was blessed the day he was born.  He makes me laugh more often than anyone else in this world. He makes me think about my motherhood skills…specially when he reminds me that I am over doing the mom thing (lol).

My son is not perfect, but he is as close to perfection as a child could come to a mother.  I pray every night and day that the Lord protects my children, my JJ, I pray very hard that JJ becomes a good and productive citizen one day. I pray to God that JJ will find a good loving woman who will bring the best of him (when the time is right), I pray that he remains healthy, that he remains humble and that he continue to have many, many birthdays.

Happy birthday my love! May all your wishes and dreams come true. May your day be filled with love, happiness and joy…I promise that, at least, today you can play your video games for as long as you want. Te amo my child….HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

  1. What a beautiful post!
I’d love to write something similar for my son’s birthday. You’ve given me an idea!
    Best regards from Barcelona,

  2. I am glad! Thanks for commenting 🙂 Barcelona, WOW…I bet Barcelona is a beautiful place. Visiting Spain is on my bucket list…I love to travel…my husband not so much, but I hope that in a couple of years, when the children are away in college…my husband and I can sneak out and visit Spain and Argentina.
