What is your life motto? What is that one thing that drives you everyday? What makes you push forward and break barriers? My life motto is “No pain no, no gain” and “Never Surrender”.
Having a life motto is important to me, because when I get into those dark places, typically in my mind, I need something to help me crawl out. No pain no gain pushes me forward, because I associate pain with the need to get better…to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Never surrender is something I live by, why do you want to surrender? Why do you want to stop fighting? We fight to live, we fight battles everyday to make us better human beings. We fight to provide a better future for our children, to provide a better life than the one we once knew.
Those are my life mottos…I picked them up while I was serving in the US Army…there was not a day where I was not in pain, physical and emotional. I knew I couldn’t surrender, I knew that the light at the end of the tunnel was the one thing I would be the proudest for years to come. That was my gain, walking at graduation day…I never surrender and I graduated my Basic Training at Ft. Sill, OK in 1999…and that was then my proudest moment…more important than graduating from College…it was my personal goal and I achieved it…because I never surrender.
