As a veteran, I want to take a few minutes out of my day to thank all of those who support our veterans and their families. As a veteran, when I signed my contract, that was the proudest moment of my life, as a single woman, later on, motherhood became my proudest moment.
Serving in the United States Army was an honor. Serving with that brotherhood taught me so many things, from compassion, to understanding, to acceptance, to leadership, etc. Being a soldier meant more to me than just merely wearing that uniform. It was a sense of pride, it was me giving up who I was, my entire being, for this country that I love.
Today, we celebrate our veterans. Today, I want to thank all of those who support our military, those who understand the sacrifice, those who take a moment to look at a man/woman in uniform and thank them for all they do. Supporting our military does not mean we are pro war, it means that we have an understanding that those who serve will bleed, will give their lives so we can continue enjoying the amazing U.S. of A.
So, thank you! When in doubt, remember, freedom isn’t free!!!
