I have an amazing husband and two wonderful teenagers who rock my world every day. I am a firm believer in keeping it simple when it comes to celebrating a special day. Anyone can go to a store and buy things, right! So, I love when my husband and kids think outside of the box 🙂
Friday, my daughter surprised me at baseball field with a hand-made Mother’s Day card. In the card she explained why she loves me so much…she got me laughing because the card was very funny as well as heartfelt. She rocks my world…that kiddo is my strength.
So, my Mother’s Day started with a baseball game. My son had a baseball game and we started our day at the baseball fields. When the game was over, my son came out of the dugout with a red rose, a beautiful red rose and attached to the rose was a letter. Yes, my boy wrote me a letter…it was a paragraph…and it meant the world to me. I wish I could publish his letter but out of respect to our special moment I will keep what he wrote by myself. Yes, a tear or two came down, that’s normal…I was so surprised by his letter…I placed the letter inside my Bible because I plan on keeping it forever. The letter was beautiful, the way he expressed his love for me was amazing and it was heartfelt.
After baseball, my son and I grabbed lunch at Zaxby’s then headed home. When I walked into my home my hubby was handling laundry and he was cleaning the house. I smiled BIG!!! Love when I don’t have to clean the house or do laundry…that was a special surprise to me.
To top it all up…Janie and Jason made me an amazing dinner. Steak, Crab Legs, mashed potatoes, mushrooms, corn on the cob…I mean I ate and ate and then ate some more. Everything was perfectly delicious and they even clean the kitchen…call me crazy…but, this years Mother’s Day was the best I have ever had. Loved the simplicity, love how they all came up with their own ideas to make me feel appreciated, to make me feel special.
I am one lucky lady, my husband was God sent to me, he is an amazing guy with the biggest heart. My kids are my life, is at times like this Mother’s Day when they show me how well-rounded they are…is what makes me believe that I am doing a good job as a mom…and they are not afraid to say it, to show it…my family is the best. Blessed…simply blessed.
